Rebecca Engmann Darst came to the markets from a background in journalism and economics, and following a seven-year stint in Europe. She delivered political, business and EU news from Denmark, Sweden and Norway to the European Commission in Brussels as leader of the Nordic News Service, on behalf of Ritzaus Bureau, the National News Agency of Denmark. During that time, Darst was also a Scandinavian affairs correspondent for Spanish daily newspaper El Mundo, and was a frequent radio guest on Radio Netherlands, Deutsche Welle Radio in Germany, Australia’s ABC Radio, and other news outlets.
After stints at Nordea Bank AB and Saxo Bank in Copenhagen, Darst returned to the United States to become an equity options analyst at Interactive Brokers, where she is the author of the daily "Options and Futures Intelligence Report." The report provides a daily snapshot, updated regularly, of unusual moves in volume and volatility on options tracked by Interactive Brokers’ market scanners. She is a weekly contributor to thestreet.com, and a regular guest on CNBC's "Squawk Box ."
She lives with her husband Daniel Darst in Connecticut.
