Rebecca Jarvis was a general assignment reporter at CNBC, based at network's world headquarters. She also reported live from the Nasdaq Market Site and the New York Mercantile Exchange.

To her reporting, Jarvis brought hands-on business experience in both investment banking and foreign currency trading. As an investment banker with Banc of America Securities, she analyzed and advised $6 billion in mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt transactions. Prior to that, she executed interest rate trades on Citigroup's foreign exchange desk in London.

Jarvis left financial services to pursue a career in journalism and has written for publications ranging from Crain’s Chicago Business, to Business 2.0.

Jarvis graduated from the University of Chicago with a degree in Economics and Law, Letters & Society. A recipient of the University of Chicago Dean’s Grant, she also studied European banking and financial markets at the Universitė Sciences Po and Dauphine Universitė in Paris, France.
