Sun CEO McNealy On Internet Education Tool

We have a bit of a late entry--from today's "Squawk Box." Sun Microsystems Chairman and President Scott McNealy came on to talk about his non-profit organization curriki.org It's a try at letting kids from K-12 get online in order to have free access to text books and classes.

Curriki started at Sun in 2004 but split off in 2006. McNealy pointed out how the state of California spends some $400 million a year on textbooks alone.

McNealy says this is part of his effort to increase online community development that goes beyond the browser and spread sheets--and opening the "source" of education.
