The news: American International Group Inc., (AIG) the world's largest insurer, on Thursday reported fourth-quarter profit rose sharply from a year-ago period weighed down by hurricane losses, but results still missed Wall Street projections.
The word: Strazzini said the earnings were only okay, but they're a huge company. They have a lot of volatility. But I still like buying this stock
The news:Dell Inc., which is the subject of a federal probe into its finances, said Thursday that fourth-quarter profits plunged 33 percent due to weak sales of laptops and notebooks, which account for the lion's share of its revenues
The word: Macke said there was no reason to buy Dell on this report, move along.

The word: Guy Adami said it's a buy at $80
BUSINESS SOFTWARE TRADE
The news: Business software maker Oracle Corp. will buy Hyperion Solutions Corp. for $3.3 billion in cash, renewing a shopping spree aimed at toppling rival SAP.
The word: Tim Strazzini said a consortium is deep into the space. This is a private equity engine. There's a ton of consolidation in the space.
The news: Motorola Inc. is putting its quest to recapture the title of world's biggest cell-phone maker on hold
The word: Strazzini said clearly Motorola isn't as broken as GM. It just has management issues. Carl Ichan has bought into the company.
The news:Gap Inc.'s fourth-quarter profit fell 35 percent in a gloomy performance that triggered a recent management purge and doomed the slumping retailer's newest chain.
The word: They need a new chief in there. They're talking about closing Gap stores and opening more Old Navy stores. Doesn't make sense to me.
The news:Goodyear Tireand Rubber's U-S-based retail and salaried employees should plan on some changes in their pension and retiree benefits. Starting next January first, current and future salaried retirees will be contributing more toward the cost of their medical benefits.
The word: Bolling said Goodyear , and Cooper Tire are both buys.
