Arcelor Mittal says it Will Build New Service Center in Poland


Steel giant Arcelor Mittal said Friday it plans to build a new service center in the Polish city of Krakow as part of an expansion in central and eastern Europe.

In a statement the company said the new center would have a processing capacity of 450,000 tons a year. It is due to start operating late 2007.

Separately, the Rotterdam, Netherlands-based company said it signed a $300 million deal with Noble International of the United States to combine their laser-welded tailored blanks business.
