CNBC Europe Appoints New Head of Marketing

CNBC Europe, the leading pan-European business and financial TV channel, has announced the appointment of Gary Groenheim as Head of Marketing. Groenheim joins the channel from TIME Magazine where he was Senior Marketing Manager.

Groenheim (37) will oversee all marketing and advertising for CNBC in Europe. He will work closely with the sales teams in London, Paris, Frankfurt and with the US and Asia on global marketing activities to launch new products and services. Groenheim will report to Charlotte Blenkinsop, Vice President, Marketing Communications, CNBC Europe.

Groenheim has more than 13 years experience in marketing and advertising. During his five year tenure at TIME, Groenheim created international multi-media marketing programmes that increased the magazine’s brand profile and advertising revenues. Groenheim created TIME’s highly acclaimed European Heroes Awards and established the magazine’s exclusive media partnership with the World Economic Forum.

Before joining TIME, he had been an international account manager at advertising agency Wieden & Kennedy, working in both London and Amsterdam on pan-European and international accounts including Nike, Coca-Cola and Alta Vista.

Speaking on his appointment, Groenheim said, “It is a great time to be joining CNBC Europe. The channel is enjoying continued success in growing its audience and attracting new advertisers. My role is to build on that success by helping to identify new opportunities and introduce new and compelling ways of growing the CNBC Europe brand in the marketplace.”
