As the Dow set new intraday highs Monday, Fifth Third Asset Management’s Mary Jane Matts, co-director of large cap value strategies and manager of the Fifth Third Disciplined Large Cap Value Fund, appeared on CNBC’s “Morning Call” with her picks for the best money-making large-cap stocks.
“The best way to make money in stocks in the short term is to take a long-term perspective,” said Matts, who likes Applied Materials and Halliburton.
“With Applied Materials, we see positive long-term growth prospects, as the chip plants in China and India are growing rapidly,” said Matts.
She praised Halliburton for their rapid growth in energy infrastructure outside the U.S.
