More on our Friday night exclusive ... the world's biggest software company made its biggest takeover, ever. First on Fast Monday, the CEO that brokered the deal with Microsoft. Following is how the guys suggest to trade the deal.
aQuantive's (AQNT) CEO Brian McAndrews joins the guys in a first on fast exclusive..
Tim Strazzini says Microsoft (MSFT) is making a huge step in the right direction.
Jeff agrees that MSFT is a buy off this news. X-box had been tied into ad measurement which seemed like a dead platform, to Jeff. Now that makes more sense to him.
Also Jeff doesn’t think the acquisition process is over for Microsoft. Google (GOOG) and Microsoft will acquire assets to go after each other in years to come.
Jeff adds there’s an argument to be made for ValueClick (VCLK). Now that aQuantive (AQNT) is no longer an independent player, the value of being independent goes to other companies in the space.
Guy Adami says McAndrews can’t speculate about a MSFT / YHOO merger, but he can. Guy thinks that’s what Friday’s deal is all about..
Guy also believes eBay (EBAY) will come into play as will Monster.com. (MNST)
Guy Adami also likes Interpublic Group (IPG) which he feels is quite good at identifying the customer.
Eric Bolling says the other big player in the space is 24/7 Real Media (TFSM) which is being acquired by WPP Group (WPPGY). Eric thinks TFSM could now become a lot more valuable to WPP. He recommends buying WPP.
