Chemical and consumer conferences are likely to move the markets the rest of the week amid a dearth of news.
Monsanto (MON) will be presenting at a Credit Suisse chemical conference scheduled for Wednesday. Pete Najarian would keep an eye on what MON says, as it’s been on a roll and is currently working on initiatives and deals related to the environment and better crop yields that could send it even higher.
Crocs (CROX) presented at the Thomas Weisel Consumer Conference Tuesday and will present at the Piper Jaffray London Consumer Conference on Thursday. The shoe company – another name that has been on fire – is speaking about diversifying internationally, Pete says. Look for even more good news out of that company this week.
Digital River (DRIV), a play on online advertising, will also present at the conference in London. Watch to see if any of the stocks become active during or after the companies present, Pete said. It is conference season, after all, and that’s often why stocks can move on what looks like no news.
