European Stocks to Track U.S., Asia Gains


European shares are set to open higher on Thursday, tracking gains in the United States and Asia, with investors training their sights on a raft of data to gauge the strength of the global economy.

Bookmakers in London see Britain's FTSE 100 up 25-29 points,  Germany's DAX up 25-32 points, and France's CAC up 15-18 points.

On investors' radars are U.S. inflation, GDP and jobless claims figures,  which may give clues to the future of interest rates after the Federal Reserve  served up a hefty 50-basis-point cut earlier this month.
