Disney reports earnings Tuesday while News Corp reports Wednesday. Which company should you bet on?
Wall Street will be closely watching the Mouse House Tuesday, as Disneyreports earnings, explains CNBC Media Reporter Julia Boorstin. It’s been widely reported that analysts have questions about the theme-park business and want to know how attendance is holding up as consumers cut back. But with Disney trading at its lowest P/E in over twenty years, investors could find compelling value.
Meanwhile, News Corp. investors are looking for strong results from its TV networks to compensate for disappointing results from MySpace. Also there should be lots of questions on the conference call about Murdoch's plans for the interactive division.
I think investors should stay long Disney, says Jeff Macke. But it’s a long term investment not a trade.
Disney looks attractive to me too, adds Pete Najarian. However, it’s up 10% in the last two weeks.
* In case you’re wondering, none of the traders were interested in playing News Corp.
