I'm sitting on a bench in a town which aims to be Boomerville, USA. It's not in Florida. Not in Arizona. It's Oxford, Mississippi. I know, I thought the same thing.

But let me tell you, coming here has been one of the most pleasant surprises of my life. Oxford rocks!

This small college town has been described as a "cosmopolitan Mayberry," and I'm here to do a story on efforts by civic leaders to capture the attention of valuable boomer retirees (it'll air May 16th). Their pitch: quality of life plus generous tax incentives. Those over 65 don't pay state income taxes on retirement income.

I do not shill by nature, but not only is the town beautiful--Ole Miss is one of the prettiest campuses I've ever seen--but I crashed a retiree get-together last night, and those people know how to party. Finally, you have not lived until you've eaten shrimp and grits at the City Grocery.

a real estate search site, has released a survey showing that half of all Americans would consider buying a foreclosed home, but two thirds are concerned about the negative impact, especially hidden costs. Searches for foreclosures on Trulia's site tripled in the first quarter.

Allergan (Fake Jane's favorite company) reported that earnings doubled, and the company raised full-year guidance, as international sales offset weakness in the U.S. Botox sales were up 18 percent. Fake Jane says, "Vive la France!"
