Get Yourself To The Reebok Grand Prix

I don't do many public service announcements. But I have to do one here.

If you can't spend thousands of dollars to go to the Olympics in Beijing, and you're in the New York area, you should try to get yourself to Reebok Grand Prix tomorrow at Icahn Stadium. It's one of the last chances to see the best track stars in the world before the games.

Sure, all the drug scandals have damaged the reputation of this sport, but there's nothing like seeing Allyson Felix and Tyson Gay in person. And for less than $50.

The most intriguing story is Liu Xiang, the Chinese hurdler who won gold in Athens. I had a chance to talk to him on Wednesday and, to tell you the truth, I have no idea how he deals with the pressure. There are 1.3 billion people who expect him to win in his home country and nothing less than gold will be sufficient.

For all that I'm looking forward to in Michael Phelps becoming the most decorated Olympian of all time, my greatest interest will be the 110-meter hurdles because of Liu Xiang.
