January 13, 2009 - CNBC, First in Business Worldwide, announced CNBC's "Options Action," a new primetime program, will join the network's programming lineup beginning Friday, January 16th airing Fridays at 11:30PM ET and broadcasting from CNBC's Global Headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, NJ.

Hosted by CNBC's Melissa Lee and sponsored by thinkorswim (Nasdaq: SWIM), a leader in investor education and options trades, CNBC's "Options Action," is a fast-paced, weekly half-hour roundtable discussion featuring four prominent options traders who will explain the advantages of options trading and demonstrate the strategy using the news of the week. Fresh from the trading desks, the "Options Action" traders will not only offer the latest fundamental analysis of individual stocks, but also teach viewers how to employ the right option strategies to potentially limit risk and increase investment rewards.

Lee, a CNBC reporter and anchor, will lead roundtable discussions with some of Wall Street's top option traders and market makers: Stacey Gilbert, Market Strategist, Susquehanna Capital Group; Michael Khouw, Director, Equity Derivatives Trading US, Cantor Fitzgerald; Jim Iuorio, Managing Director, TJM Institutional Services; Brian Stutland, President, Stutland Equities; and Joseph M. Terranova, Chief Alternatives Strategist, Virtus Investment Partners.

CNBC's "Options Action" will offer viewers a unique glimpse into how the smart money is taking advantage of the unprecedented market volatility. With the help of some of the top option traders from Wall Street's most prestigious firms, "Options Action" will demystify a fast-growing but crucial corner of the capital markets.

Bios of "Options Action" talent are below:

Melissa Lee is a reporter and anchor for CNBC, based at the network's global headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, N.J.

Lee covers investment banking, hedge funds and private equity. She also reports extensively on China-the country's growth, its challenges and the opportunities for US businesses. In 2008, she reported and anchored a one-hour documentary, "Made in China: People's Republic of Profit" from Beijing and Shanghai.

Lee also contributes reports to NBC's "Today" show.

Lee has been nominated for two Emmy awards in Business News. In 2007, she was recognized for her report, "The $50M Con," about a college student-turned scammer who ran a fake hedge fund and was ultimately caught by the FBI. And in 2003, she was nominated for her reporting on the proxy voting of mutual funds.

Prior to joining CNBC in 2004, Lee worked for Bloomberg Television and CNN Financial News.

Before her career in television, Lee was a consultant at Mercer Management Consulting. Her cases focused on the banking and credit card sectors.

Lee graduated with honors from Harvard College with a Bachelor of Arts in Government. She also served as Assistant Managing Editor of the Harvard Crimson.

Stacey Gilbert is currently a senior options trader for Susquehanna International Group, LLP in Bala Cynwyd, PA, specializing in "special situations." She formerly headed Susquehanna Financial Group, LLP's Market Intelligence Research Department (Derivative Research).

Michael Khouw is a senior Equity Derivatives trader at Cantor Fitzgerald, LP and manager of the US Listed Equity Derivatives Desk. Before joining Cantor, Khouw was an analyst/consultant for Ivory Capital, a floor based options trader for Bluefin Energy, LLC, where he co-founded the energy options trading group and was responsible for teaching options trading to firm's new hires, and an options trader for Gateway Partners, LLC.

Jim Iuorio is the Managing Director at TJM Institutional Services and trades at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. Iuorio graduated from the University of Illinois in 1987 and has been working on the floor of CME ever since. The majority of his floor time has been spent brokering futures and options trades for large institutional clients.

Brian Stutland established his own floor trading company, Stutland Equities LLC in 2002. He pioneered the shift to electronic options trading, as Stutland Equities became one of the first Remote Market Makers on the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) and then was a trailblazer in 2006 as he became of the first traders to take on positions in VIX Volatility futures and options.

Joseph M. Terranova was named Chief Alternatives Strategist for Virtus Investment Partners and co-portfolio manager for the Virtus Alternatives Diversifier Fund in 2008. In this role, Terranova is responsible for directing the investment strategies related to alternative investments, including commodities, natural resources, global infrastructure, currencies, real estate and hedge funds. Prior to joining Virtus Investment Partners, Terranova spent 18 years at MBF Clearing Corp., rising to position of Director of Trading for the company and its subsidiaries.
