The Week and You: Bad News Bulls

The Bush Administration prepared to leave town. Alcoa kicked off a decidedly ugly earnings season. The Detroit auto show didn't have much horsepower, and December sales figures showed that for retailers, decking the halls didn't bring in much holly.

But hopes for the new order of things in Washington and a reminder that stocks traditionally recover before the economy does kept some light on the horizon, and although their ranks were decidedly thinner, there were experts ready to recommend stocks, and explain why.
