CNBC Launches SMS Service For The UK

CNBC, First in business worldwide, together with MINICK, a pioneer of interactive mobile applications, today announced the launch of CNBC’s SMS alert service to provide European stock market updates and financial news summaries to the UK market.

Launching on 11 May, the service will allow subscribers to receive up to three text messages on their mobile devices each weekday.  Subscribers have the option to receive two European financial markets updates (one at 10.00 and one at 16.45) and one update in the evening highlighting CNBC’s key on-air guests and analysts for the following day.  Customers can subscribe to the SMS service by texting ‘MARKET’ to 83333 and ‘GUEST’ to 83333 respectively.  Each alert will cost 25p and subscribers can opt out of the service at any time.

The launch will be backed by multi-platform marketing activities including:
• On-air promos to be aired across CNBC’s UK feed
• Digital marketing leaderboard ad units on CNBC.com and a targeted e-mail marketing campaign
• A dedicated mobile services section on CNBC.com.
