Following are the day’s biggest winners and losers. Find out why shares of DreamWorks and Jos. A. Bank popped while Hot Topic and Walgreen dropped.
POPS (stocks that jumped higher)
DreamWorks (DWA) popped 10%. Janney upgraded the name to 'buy' from 'neutral,' citing improved prospects in 2010. - Giddyup, exclaims Pete Najarian.
Jos. A. Bank (JOSB) popped 2%. The company reported a better-than-expected quarterly profit with sales getting a boost from direct marketing.
DROPS (stocks that slid lower)
Hot Topic (HOTT) dropped 2%. The teen retailer said November same store sales dropped a larger than expected 12%. - At these levels, I don't like it, says Steve Grasso.
Walgreen (WAG) dropped 3%. The company posted a smaller-than-expected rise in same-store sales in November. - I prefer CVS, reveals Karen Finerman.
Nokia (NOK) dropped 4%. The company said it expects its mobile device market share to be flat in 2010. - That's not good, chuckles Joe Terranova.
Gamestop (GME) dropped 8%. Rival Wal-Mart offered deals on popular video games and the Nintendo Wii leading up to the holidays.
Constellation Brands (STZ) dropped 3%. The maker of Svedka fell after Goldman Sachs said wine sales will disappoint and alcohol sales will remain subdued in 2010.
DR Horton (DHI) dropped 3%. The homebuilder traded lower today on no particular news.
