With only two days left before Christmas Day, Wal-MartStores has announced that it plans to continue offering its holiday discounts and special promotions until New Year's Day.
Among the discount retailer's offers is a $50 store gift card with the purchase of Microsoft's Xbox 360, an eMachine netbook for $228, and savings of as much as 50 percent on holiday products and select toys.
Other previous holiday promotions will also be honored, such as their current offer of Blu-ray movies for less than $20.
The post-holiday promotions will run from Dec. 26 to Jan. 1 and will begin at 8:00 A.M.
According to a survey by BIGResearch for Wal-Mart , about 55 percent of mothers said they like to receive gift cards over the holidays because they can use them in post-holiday sales.
Two out of five moms who plan to use gift cards said they will do so right after the holiday because they believed that was when items are most heavily discounted.
With consumers looking to stretch their dollars, they have been very focused on discounts this holiday season.
