Gap
Since mid-week shares of Gap have climbed, due to stronger than expected same store sales.
Then on Friday Citi upgrade Gap to Buy from Hold and increased its price target to $24 citing solid expectations for its value brand, Old Navy.
Adami: If you have to be in retail, I think this stock is a good place to be, says the Negotiator.
Toyota
Shares climbed on Friday after Toyota President Akio Toyoda apologized for safety problems that have left the Japanese carmaker "in crisis."
Finerman: So much value has been lost in this stock, as a value investors I’m pulled toward it, says the Chairwoman. But I can’t help but think about the Vioxx crisis that Merck struggled with. That issue lingered for quite some time. And just like the Vioxx issue, I can’t help but wonder how lingering this issue will be for Toyota. How damaging was the recall was to the Toyota brand? I'm staying away.
Apple
Shares of Apple traded higher partly due to a new survey that found 9 out of 10 computers priced over $1000 sold in Q4 2009 were Macs.
Terranova: Fundamentals in Apple look strong and it’s one of the first names I will step into when the market turns.
