Fairfax County EDA Works with 29 Businesses That Will Add 645 Jobs to the Local Economy


FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va., May 10, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- During the first quarter of 2010, the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA, provided services and resources to 29 businesses that will create 645 jobs in Fairfax County. Most of these businesses are in the information technology and professional services sectors, and several are foreign-owned firms using a Fairfax County location to expand in the U.S.


Among the businesses that said they will add jobs in Fairfax County: -- QinetiQ North America, which provides technology-based products and services to the defense, security and related markets, will add 200 jobs; -- Business and technology consultants Acumen Solutions, which will create 100 jobs; -- Digital cable TV and telecommunications provider Cox Communications, which will expand by 87 jobs; and "We are very proud and fortunate to be based in Fairfax County.
