ATLANTA, May 10, 2010 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Starting in late 2009, the Evergreen Marriott Conference Resort began undergoing nearly $10 million in renovations and improvements. Both the interior and exterior of this Stone Mountain, GA hotel are either presently receiving a facelift or will by 2011.
Renovations on the largest 25 suites in the hotel were completed in early January. The remaining suites as well as the other 311 guest rooms will be completely renovated by the end of this year. Updates include new pillows and bed linens, as well as select furniture and updated guest corridors.
Numerous exterior upgrades are also scheduled to be completed by this coming fall. Among these renovations are a new roof and facade enhancements including fresh paint and design element updates. Improvements will also be made to the outdoor pool seating area known as the "Resort Deck" which will make this area perfect for events like a Georgia outdoor wedding.
Also getting a makeover are the resort's two restaurants Waterside and The Commons, as well as the lobby level meeting space. This will include the Evergreen Ballroom, additional meeting rooms and all pre-function areas on the same level.
When the project is complete, Evergreen Marriott Conference Resort will boast nearly 40,000 square feet of newly renovated indoor function space.
