Mizuho plans $8.7 billion share offering-sources


TOKYO, May 11 (Reuters) - Mizuho Financial Group, Japan's second-largest bank, plans to raise about 800 billion yen ($8.74 billion) through an issue of new shares to meet stricter capital rules, three people familiar with the matter said. Mizuho plans to register this week to issue the shares, the people said, speaking on condition of anonymity because the offering has not yet been made public.
