Kroger Boosts Quarterly Dividend by a Penny


National grocery retailer Kroger said Thursday that its board has approved a 1-cent quarterly dividend hike.


The supermarket chain will pay out 10.5 cents a share, up from its previous rate of 9.5 cents a share, marking the fourth increase in the company's dividend history.

Kroger operates 2,468 supermarkets across 31 states.

The new dividend will be distributed on December 1, 2010 to sharesholders of record as of November 15, 2010.
