Exclusive Interview with C.J. Hunter of ‘Football Cops’

Peyton and Eli Manning are the subject of a DirecTV campaign called "Football Cops." It's a hilarious take from the company that brought us mini giraffes.

If you haven't had a chance to see Peyton as Mike Tahoe or Eli as C.J. Hunter, take a look at it now. It has been viewed more than 630,000 times in the last week.

Earlier today, I caught up with C.J., a.k.a. Eli Manning, to talk about the campaign which highlights the fact that new customers who switch to DirecTV get NFL Sunday Ticket for free this year.

Darren: Before we start, I have to know. When you signed on to do this with DirecTV did you negotiate to get a mini giraffe?

Manning: Not in the contract.

Darren: Well, that's the first thing I would ask for. At least you got a fu manchu.

Manning: Yeah, I wanted that. It says right away, "I'm all business." Of course the ladies like it as well. The good thing is, after our shoot, I got to keep the mustache. So if I ever want to sneak out with my wife and have dinner and don't want people to recognize me, I can wear it out. Seriously, they almost made me take it off because it disguised me so well.

Darren: How hard is it to throw a football through someone's stomach?

Manning: Not as hard as you would think. In fact, it's easier than when I'm playing in a game. That's when I have to let up. Plus, when you're aiming at something it's a lot easier to let it rip than when you are trying to lead a receiver in a game.

Darren: What do you and "Tahoe" like do you in your free time?

Manning: We hang out at local pubs.

Darren: I assume you guys eat donuts together?

Manning: Nah, Tahoe doesn't eat any carbs.
