The Lone Star State is back in the number two spot.
On top in 2008 and 2010, once again Texas is finished second in CNBC's 2011 edition of America's Top States for Business.
And though Texas managed to score 70 points more than last year's, the runner-up still finished about 100 points behind the winner. (Sorry, we're not telling you until 4:30 p.m.)
On the positive side, Texas moved up in five of the 10 categories. Notably, it made the top five in three other categories: Technology & Innovation, Access to Capital, and Cost of Living.
The economy was the state's weak link this year, prompting a dramatic drop in Texas' rankings from 1st in 2010 to 14th this year.
