CNBC Appoints Ted Kemp As Senior News Editor For In EMEA


LONDON, 12 August 2011 – CNBC, the leading business and financial news channel, has appointed Ted Kemp as Senior News Editor for in EMEA, based at the network’s regional headquarters in London.

Kemp starts immediately and will manage all editorial operations for in the region.  He joins from CNBC’s global headquarters in the United States where he’s been part of the editorial team for the last five years, most recently as News Editor.

In the US, Kemp played a central role in developing the site at launch and now aims to make the European edition of the destination of choice for business and finance news in Europe and beyond.

The European edition of was launched in May 2011, with news, videos, features, market analysis and investor insights.  The site also offers free real-time data from exchanges across Europe, including the London Stock Exchange, Deutsche Börse, NYSE Euronext, NYSE and NASDAQ.

Data out yesterday showed that is the number one stand alone financial website by total page views, and that had its best July ever in terms of uniques and page views, visited by 5.9 million unique users, a 6% increase compared to the same time period last year, and recorded 312 million page views (comScore Media Metrix, July 2011, excludes portal affiliated websites).

Kemp started his career in business journalism at Dow Jones Newswires and also worked as a writer and editor for other business, technology, sports and lifestyle publications including InformationWeek and GQ.
