If you’re looking for a cheap tablet, you’re in luck.

On Wednesday, Hewlett Packardsaid in a blogpostit will crank out "one last run" of its TouchPads.

As you may know, only a few days ago, the company decided to kill the gadgets and then slashed the price to $99 from as much as $499.

That ignited an online frenzy and long lines at retailers as bargain-hunters chased down the gadget, which had only been on store shelves for six weeks.

The Touchpad sold out in record time.

"The speed at which it disappeared from inventory has been stunning," the company said. "We have decided to produce one last run of TouchPads to meet unfulfilled demand."

Sounds promising for shoppers however, the Fast pros find is discouraging for investors. Don't expect the move to ignite the company's bottom line, they say.

According to reports, the TouchPad costs $306 to manufacture - in other words at $99 HP loses over $200 per unit.

And that just doesn't add up.

Trader Stephen Weiss is among the throngs on Wall Street who are absolutely baffled by the decision. “It’s another bone-headed move,” he says.

HP declined to comment beyond the blogpost mentioned above.
