Dollar Stores Stealing Share from Wal-Mart

In a time of macro uncertainty when most consumers are on the hunt for a bargain, what should you expect from Dollar Tree earnings?

BB&T Capital analyst Anthony Chukumba says look for Dollar Tree as well as rival dollar stores  to take market share away from Wal-Mart.

”Essentially the advantage dollar stores have is convenience,” Chukumba tells us.

”They’re right in the neighborhood and it’s easy to get in and get out. By comparison Wal-Mart is a giant store, a half an hour drive and you have to wait in a long line.”

But that doesn’t mean you should run out and buy here. Chukumba  and Fast trader Karen Finerman both think that’s all priced in.

“If we see the stock come in and valuations go down to mid-teens, then I’d be interested,” says Chukumba but not here.
