The owner of Minneapolis-based U.S. Bancorp says a power failure in Oregon led to ATM outages Saturday between 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. EDT.

Bank spokesman Tom Joyce said the problems were sporadic and power was restored in geographic blocks over time. He said not all 8,000 machines were down for the entire two hours.

Joyce said the failures weren't due to hacking or security violations. He said the entire network should be back online and working fine.

U.S. Bancorp has more than 3,000 bank offices in 25 states. It's the fifth-largest commercial bank in the U.S., with $353 billion in assets.
