The Democratic convention will be far more critical of and the Republicans than the Republican convention was of the Democrats, real estate mogul Donald Trump told CNBC’s on Tuesday.
“The (Republican) convention was good, but it could have been a lot tougher,” . “Mitt Romney did a really good job, but really could have been tougher on Obama.”
Trump said that legendary actor Clint Eastwood was more critical of and his administration, and “maybe that’s why he was so strongly criticized.” (Read More:.)
Trump is expecting the Democrats to attack the Republicans more aggressively at their convention. “They will be far more vicious than the Republicans were,” he said.
Despite the rhetoric, Trump expects this extremely close election to come down to jobs and the economy. (Read More:.)
"It will be about jobs, it will be about the economy, it will be about gasoline prices, oil prices, and if the gasoline prices continue to go up, that's going to be a real negative for (Democrats)," he said.
“It's a very close election,” Trump said. “And depending on how we're doing, if (Obama) gets good reports coming out, he's going to have a real good shot and if he gets bad reports, Mitt Romney will be the next president.”
