Murphy Oil - Hedge fund manager Dan Loeb's Third Point disclosed a 1.5 million stake in the energy company through the end of the second quarter, according to an amended 13-F filing with the SEC. Shares edged higher in extended-hours trading. (Click here for after-hours quote.)

Xyratex - The company posted earnings of 37 cents a share, excluding one-time items, on revenue of $276 million, missing expectations for 44 cents a share on sales of $316 million.
