CAMDEN, N.J., Oct. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Holman Toyota of Mount Laurel, NJ, presented a new Sienna minivan to Ronald McDonald House of Southern New Jersey this week as part of Toyota's "100 Cars for Good" program. Cars for Good is a major philanthropic effort from Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc. that is awarding new vehicles to 100 nonprofit organizations over the course of 100 days, based on votes from the public.

Ronald McDonald Houses throughout the world provide a "home-away-from-home" for families so they can stay close by a hospitalized child at little or no cost. Ronald McDonald himself was the first passenger in the new Sienna when it was driven from the Toyota dealership in Mount Laurel to the charity's facility in Camden. Staffers, volunteers and families staying at the House celebrated the event with an outdoor carnival. They were joined by the Philadelphia Phillies mascot Phillie Phanatic and such familiar McDonald's characters as the Hamburglar.
This is the second year of the 100 Cars for Good program, which kicked off in May with applicants entering for a chance to win a new Toyota. Applications were reduced to 500 finalists and certified by an independent panel of judges. Then the finalists submitted online profiles to encourage friends and supporters to vote for them on the Toyota USA Facebook page, with five finalists up for consideration by the public each day. The winning vehicles come with an extended six-year, 100,000-mile Vehicle Service Agreement, courtesy of Toyota Financial Services.
Ronald McDonald House of Southern New Jersey will use their new Toyota to transport families staying at the House to hospitals in South Jersey, Philadelphia and the surrounding region for medical treatments their children are undergoing.
"Although Toyota has a history of giving to nonprofit organizations, 100 Cars for Good was the first Toyota initiative to put the public into the driver's seat of one of their major philanthropic efforts," said Mindy Holman, President and CEO of Holman Toyota.
