China needs to build up to 60 new LNG carriers worth $12 billion between now and 2020 in order to meet their Five-Year plan goals. China's natural gas consumption is expected to grow by 22.6 % in 2012 from 106 billion cubic meters in 2010. The country's gas demand is forecasted to continue growing robustly, reaching at least 100 Bcm in 2010 and more than doubling to 300 Bcm in 2020. By 2015, the ratio of the primary energy consumption of natural gas in China will increase from 4% to 8%.
