Shares in French movie studio EuropaCorp surge 13 percent after LiamNeeson thriller "Taken 2", which it co-produced, captures the No. 1 spot onmovie box office charts over the weekend.
The sequel sold $50 million worth of tickets over the weekend in the UnitedStates and Canada, helping it to a gobal take of $117 million including $55million from international markets.
The movie was jointly financed by News Corp's 20th Century Fox and Europa,run by "Taken" writer and director Luc Besson.
The gains lift the shares to a 14-month high. They have more than tripled invalue since their year low in late May.
