SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Urban Real Estate Services and Realty Connex, Downtown’s premier boutique residential Real Estate companies that have jointly been responsible for more than 3,000 real estate transactions valued at more than $1 billion in the past decade, have merged operations and joined Harcourts USA. Harcourts is a 125-year-old international Real Estate company with 780 offices in 10 countries and recognized as one of the fastest growing Real Estate brands in the world.
The new company, named Harcourts Pacific Realty, will be owned by partners Eric Jones, Suzen Sarko, and Sherman and Becky Harmer and will open with approximately 30 agents. Harcourts Pacific Realty, which is on track to complete more than $65 million in transaction in 2012, will continue to occupy the partners’ high profile offices at 620 First Ave. in the Marina District and at 1608 India Street in Little Italy.
The new company, a full-service residential and commercial brokerage and property management firm, plans to open offices in San Diego’s Uptown, East Village, and Carmel Valley areas.
“I’m delighted to welcome Suzen, Eric, and the Harmers to Harcourts,” said Aaron Hodson, CEO of Harcourts USA, headquartered in Aliso Viejo. Harcourts Pacific Realty is the 12th franchisee to join Harcourts USA in the past 12 months.
“Suzen and Eric, who will be the day-to-day broker/managers, are joining a team of 12,000 professionals working in 10 countries, including Australia, China, New Zealand, and South Africa,” said Hodson, noting Harcourt International Ltd. exceeded a record $20.9 billion in sales for the 2011 financial year.
“Harcourts is actively involved in the personal and professional development of every person on its team,” he said. “That’s why the average annual income of Harcourts agents worldwide was $168,000 in 2011 – a far cry from the average annual income of real estate agents in California, which was $18,000.”
Harcourts Pacific Realty will continue Urban Real Estate Services’ affiliation with Urban Housing Partners, which has been successful in the development of urban master plans, urban mixed-use, modern lofts, and luxury penthouses in Downtown San Diego and other markets. Urban Housing Partners is instrumental in the creation of I.D.E.A. District, a 35-block area in East Village designed for 10,000 jobs and $1.8 billion in new construction.
