Teleflex to Unveil New Anesthesia Solutions at Anesthesiology 2012

LIMERICK, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Teleflex Incorporated (NYSE: TFX), a leading global provider of medical devices for critical care and surgery, will showcase several new anesthesia and vascular access products at the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) annual meeting, ANESTHESIOLOGY 2012, October 13-15, 2012, in Washington, D.C., including:

• The Rusch^® EZ-Blocker™ Endobronchial Blocker, an innovative addition to the Teleflex^® airway management portfolio, received 510(k) clearance in September 2012. The EZ-Blocker endobronchial blocker is designed to allow for safer and easier lung isolation and one lung ventilation, both critical procedures performed by anesthesiologists during thoracic surgery.
• The Arrow^® FlexBlock™ Continuous Peripheral Nerve Block Catheter, which received 510(k) clearance in August 2012, is targeted toward clinicians who use ultrasound-guidance when placing continuous peripheral nerve block catheters. The FlexBlock catheter’s unique design offers a combination of ultrasound visibility, flexibility, excellent kink resistance, and a catheter tip designed to provide clinicians with a predictable spread of anesthetic.
• The Arrow^® FlexTip Plus^® Multi-Port Epidural Catheter is designed using the same proven technology of the market-leading¹ FlexTip Plus^® open tip, single-port catheter, which is proven to significantly reduce complications commonly associated with epidural catheters, such as vein cannulations and paresthesia^2-3. With the addition of the closed tip, multi-port catheter, the FlexTip Plus product portfolio now provides the drug dispersion choices clinicians demand. The FlexTip Plus Multi-Port epidural catheter received 510(k) clearance in May 2012.
• The Arrow^® ErgoPack™ System is an ergonomic packaging system for vascular access procedures designed to efficiently facilitate compliance with best practices, evidence-based medicine, guidelines and recommendations from organizations to reduce the risk of Central Line-Associated Bloodstream Infections (CLABSI).
