New Opportunity for Residents to Avoid PECO's October Electric Generation Price Increase

AKRON, Ohio, Oct. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Residential customers of PECO can sign up now to receive a low introductory price of 7.4 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh) on electric generation from FirstEnergy Solutions through March 2013.  The price then becomes 9.2 cents per kWh through September 2015.  As a thank you for enrolling, residents also will receive a $25 Visa Gift Card soon after signing up.

"PECO's generation rate just increased to approximately 10.5 cents per kWh for the average residential customer, making this an ideal time to lock in a great low introductory price offer to provide big upfront savings," says Trent Smith, vice president of Sales & Marketing for FirstEnergy Solutions.  "And for those who are interested in the stability of a long-term fixed price, FirstEnergy Solutions is also offering a unique 7-Year PriceControl offer at 7.5 cents per kWh through July 2019."

Residents can find pricing information and enroll online at www.fes.com/peco or by calling 1-877-204-9524.  Residents who choose FirstEnergy Solutions as their electric generation supplier will continue to receive one bill and the same level of service from their utility, and the utility will continue to deliver the electricity, maintain the poles and wires, and respond to power outages.
