Intel Vs. IBM Earnings: Pros Take Positions

Intel and IBM are scheduled to report quarterly earnings this week, and the “Fast Money” pros took their positions on the tech giants Monday on CNBC.’s Pete Najarian staked a clear favorite.

“I’m very bullish on IBM,” he said. “I mean, I still love Intel, but I don’t know that Intel’s ready to start moving to the upside because they’ve been so late to the whole mobile game. I still think that’s something in the future that will kick in for Intel, but I’m looking at IBM. They’ve done an absolute magnificent job of acquisitions, getting themselves into the cloud, the data game, as well.”

Karen Finerman of Metropolitan Capital Advisors was less sanguine on IBM.

“I don’t feel like this is unraveling the way an HP would, is,” she said.

Tim Seymour of was slightly more positive.

“To even mention HP, I think it’s apples and oranges,” he said, adding that Wall Street had priced in “a lot of bad news,” which left little surprises ahead.

“I would actually own Intel into the numbers because there’s very little they can tell you,” he said.

Intel reports Tuesday after the bell. IBM reports on Thursday.
