After-Hours Buzz: PETM, MTN, FB & More


Check out which companies are making headlines after the bell Wednesday:

PetSmart - The pet supply retailer posted earnings of $1.24 a share on revenue of $1.88 billion against expectations for $1.21 a share on sales of $1.89 billion. In addition, the company handed in current-quarter and full-year 2013 guidance that topped expectations. Still, shares slumped in extended-hours trading.

Vail Resorts - The ski resort operator posted earnings of $1.65 a share on sales of $422 million against estimates for $1.70 a share on revenue of $414 million. In addition, the company raised its quarterly dividend to 20.75 cents a share from 18.75 cents a share.

Facebook - The social-networking giant said it has added Susan Desmond-Hellmann, chancellor of the University of California at San Francisco, to its board of directors. Desmond-Hellmann will be the second woman elected to the company's board.

SolarCity - The energy service provider posted a loss of $1.10 a share, falling short of estimates for a loss of 44 cents a share, on revenue of $25 million. Shares tumbled in extended-hours trading.

DryShips - The dry bulk shipping company posted a loss of 34 cents a share, missing estimates by 2 cents a share, on revenue of $283 million. Shares dropped in extended-hours trading.

Angie's List - Piper Jaffray initiated coverage of the user review website with an "overweight" rating and a price target of $25. Shares jumped in extended-hours trading.

Zumiez - The teen apparel retailer posted February same-store sales that dropped 8.9 percent. Shares declined in extended-hours trading.

Horace Mann - The insurance company increased its quarterly dividend by 22 percent to 19.5 cents a share from 16 cents a share.

Hertz - The car rental company announced a sale of nearly 60 million shares of common stock by selling stockholders to underwriters. Shares slipped in extended-hours trading.
