Google ‘In a Good Position’: Blodget

Microsoft 'Under Attack': Blodget

After Google stock dipped below its 50-day moving average midday Thursday, the "Fast Money" traders and Business Insider's Henry Blodget staked their positions.

"Google's in a good, long-term strategic position, and they are executing well," Blodget said. "They're making very aggressive bets, which actually hurt their profitability over the near-term."

Business Insider's founder and editor-in-chief noted that reinvestment in its own business is something that Amazon.com did and Apple did not.

"Google's in a good position long-term," he added.

Joe Terranova of Virtus Investment Partners said he didn't care about Google's share price.

"It's not affecting any of the holdings I have right now," he said.

Rosecliff Capital's Mike Murphy said that he shorted Google and covered yesterday.

"I think Google could go a little bit lower," he said. "That and in and of itself is not going to bring down the entire market in a meaningful way."

Enis Taner of RiskReversal.com said that he would look for opportunities.

"The market is sending you signals that leaders are falling and the market's likely going lower," he said. "If you have a correction, though, Google is actually one of the names I would look to buy in the $750 area."

OptionMonster's Jon Najarian wasn't overly concerned about the intraday dip.

The question, he said, was: "Do you stay below the 50-day moving average for 10 minutes, or in other words, for one day?

"I need to see two days below that. So if I see 48 hours, then I'm interested. If I don't, then I think it overtakes that again, and that becomes a base to build on, especially after this 50-point selloff."
