Revy Takes Crowdsourced Approach to Locate Hard-to-Find Item

BATON ROUGE, La., Sept. 26, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- A new tech startup is launching in the Baton Rouge area to help people locate unique, rare and hard-to-find items. The online service, called Revy, allows users to post want ads for items they are looking for at prices they want to pay. Sellers can then come to the site and sell their items that match those in the wants ads. What makes the site truly unique is what Revy calls a "Connector". A connector can be anyone who finds a seller that has the item in the want ad. If the buyer successfully buys the item from that seller, then the Connector gets paid! If you think about it, we are all connected now more than ever; Revy just taps into this notion and gets you paid for all those connections. Overall, this crowdsourced approach gives buyers more leverage to find almost any item they want.

Revy creator and founder, Travis Drago, came up with the idea when his dad mentioned to him that he wished he could get his hands on the exact 1972 Chevy Monte Carlo car he had when he was younger. This car was actually used on the site as Revy's first want ad. "Revy is ideal for consumers who want to find that lost family heirloom, rare piece of jewelry or the hard to find collectible to finish off their collection. However, utilizing Revy to find just about anything is certainly possible", said Drago.
