MARLTON, N.J. and IRVINE, Calif., Oct. 1, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Hill International (NYSE:HIL), the global leader in managing construction risk, announced today that the construction of the Gold Line Bridge in Arcadia, California has received a Best Projects Award from Engineering News-Record (ENR) California.

The award, which was given in the category of Highways/Bridges (Southern California), will be jointly presented to Hill as program manager and AECOM as designer on December 5, 2013 at ENR California's Best 2013 Projects Awards Event in Long Beach, California.

The $19.8 million Gold Line Bridge is a 584-foot-long cast-in-place post-tensioned concrete bridge, stretching diagonally across the Eastbound I-210 Freeway in Arcadia. The bridge's design was meant to honor the local indigenous people and wildlife of the San Gabriel Valley. The architecturally-rich structure features 25-foot-tall precast basket elements, together with a ribbed exterior girder symbolizing the underbelly of the Western Diamondback rattlesnake.

"The Gold Line Bridge is an incredibly unique project and we are very honored to have been involved in its construction," said John K. Skoury, P.E., Senior Vice President in charge of Hill's rail and transit practice in California.

ENR's Best 2013 Projects Awards are a series of special events that celebrate and honor the building teams that created the best projects of 2013. These extraordinary projects are selected by juries of local prominent industry professionals. For more information on ENR, please visit their website at www.enr.com.
