SOLON, Ohio, Oct. 2, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Energy Focus, Inc. (OTCQB:EFOI) today announced that the Company has appointed Tom McAuliffe as Senior Vice President of Business Development. Mr. McAuliffe previously served as chief executive for several rapid growth technology companies in addition to serving as a top-ranked marketing executive for General Electric Company.
In this capacity, Mr. McAuliffe will focus on developing and expanding sales and enhancing profitability of the Company's commercial and ESCO (Energy Services Companies) businesses. Mr. McAuliffe will also be responsible for launching the Company's branding initiatives as well as creating and implementing sales and marketing strategies.
Mr. McAuliffe brings with him a wide range of industrial and technology company leadership, management and growth experiences. He started his career at General Electric where he eventually became the Marketing Manager of its $400 million Audio Electronics business of over 5,000 employees, and was ranked No. 1 among all product and marketing managers in GE's Consumer Sector businesses. He was also awarded the prestigious "GE Borch Award" for establishing pricing systems that dramatically increased the entire sector's profitability.
Subsequently, he successfully launched, developed and sold several leading-edge software entities, growing companies from the business plan stage to organizations with several hundred employees.
Mr. McAuliffe founded TP McAuliffe Inc., a management consultancy that provides innovative decision-making training for management teams. His consultancy has helped dramatically improve business operations for many large and small companies including GM's most efficient manufacturing plant and converting GE's poorest performing facility to its most productive.
Mr. McAuliffe is also a multi-year Amazon.com bestselling author with his business decision-making book "The 90% Solution", which delineates his quantitative methodologies to drastically reduce time and improve accuracy in decision making.
Mr. McAuliffe earned BBA and MBA degrees from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
