GREENSBORO, N.C., Oct. 8, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Prophecy Healthcare, Inc.'s Vice President of Quality & Performance, Felicia Sadler, MJ BSN RN CPHQ, is honored to speak on how thriving in the new, value-based purchasing paradigm, requires healthcare organizations to take a proactive approach to culture transformation on October 9th at the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ) conference in Louisville, KY.

Strengthening workforce behavior to include communication and interpersonal competence plays a vital role in what has become a consumer-driven industry. Given the increasingly competitive healthcare environment, Sadler's presentation, titled "An HCAHPS Imperative: Transforming the Organizational Culture to Link Communication to Value-Based Purchasing," will provide practical solutions to organizations in making the connection to proactive transformation in order to accommodate a value-based purchasing model. In addition, the presentation will provide an understanding of the patient experience, the regulatory components that drive reimbursement and the impact on the corporate infrastructure, patient safety and quality outcomes.

With over 27 years of experience in the healthcare industry, Sadler currently serves on the Education Strategy Committee for ASHRM (American Society for Health Risk Management) and will be Chairperson in 2014-15 for the Online ASHRM Education Task Force. Sadler earned a Diploma from Baptist School of Nursing (Memphis), a BSN from South University, and recently completed her Master of Jurisprudence in Health Law at Loyola University Chicago School of Law. Sadler's drive to excellence in healthcare delivery is evident through assisting organizations in implementing proactive methodologies for performance improvement and developing strategic quality initiatives to enhance quality patient outcomes.

"The theme of the NAHQ conference for this year is the triple crown of quality: Communication, Collaboration & Connection. I am very excited to have the opportunity to present on a topic that fits well within this framework, as it relates to the regulatory components under the new value-based purchasing paradigm for patient-centered care," said Felicia Sadler, MJ BSN RN CPHQ, VP of Quality & Performance.

Healthcare organizations, across the care continuum, must ensure their staff possesses the communication skills and the interpersonal competence necessary to develop patient relationships that result in a positive patient experience. Sadler's session is scheduled for Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at 9:00am. NAHQ Conference attendees looking for regulatory education sessions are encouraged to attend.
