SCHIPHOL, The Netherlands, Oct. 9, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- BREEAM has awarded the Carre Vert office building in Levallois-Perret (Paris) the BREEAM "outstanding" Post Construction Stage rating, five stars (87.07%).
Carre Vert was developed by Wereldhave in 1999, reaching BREEAM Design Stage "good" in April 2010 after a refurbishment in 2009. In connection with the fit-out works for the new tenant Electricite de France (EDF) in February 2010, Wereldhave decided to make additional investments to substantially improve the certification level. In 2012, Wereldhave and EDF teamed up to reach, in a joint effort, the highest possible ranking for a refurbished property.
Nathalie Charles, Executive Director for EDF Corporate Real Estate Division:
"EDF is committed to minimise the environmental impacts of all its activities and to be exemplar in its buildings use, which is a continuous effort. Thus we were very happy to find in Wereldhave a landlord with similar ambitions."
Dirk Anbeek, CEO of Wereldhave:
"We are actively pursuing a sustainable offices portfolio in Paris. Reaching the outstanding level for an existing property is not only a unique achievement, but it is also only possible in a joint effort between tenant and landlord. We are very happy that EDF wanted to team up with us. It shows their active engagement to sustainability, as well as their commitment to our property."
Wereldhave's offices portfolio in Paris consists of two investment properties (Le Cap - St Denis and Carre Vert - Levallois-Perret), and two development properties (Joinville and Issy-les-Moulineaux). The development properties have scored design stage interim assessments of BREEAM excellent and outstanding respectively.
