Samsung launched a new curved smart phone in Korea, but it's just the first step for the company's flexible screen technology, according to one analyst.
"I don't think this particular model is going to be a big deal on the market," said Sascha Segan, mobile analyst at PC Mag. "They're really just using this to jump-start that curved screen production so we start seeing curved screens on other devices early next year."
Sascha says he expects to see Samsung's curved, flexible screens on smartwatches and fitness trackers.
Separately, Apple is planning an invitation-only iPad event on Oct. 22 where it's expected to showcase updated iPads and potentially a new MacBook Pro, according to John Paczkowski of AllThingsD, sparking speculation among a number of tech experts.
