Willis Webinar to Help Public Companies Manage Cyber and D&O Exposures Within Rapidly Evolving Cyber Regulatory Environment: October 16, 2013

NEW YORK, Oct. 10, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Willis North America, a unit of Willis Group Holdings (NYSE:WSH), the global risk advisor, insurance and reinsurance broker, announced today an educational webinar to help public companies manage cyber risk within the rapidly evolving cyber regulatory environment.

The presentation and panel discussion will feature the results of the recently published Willis Fortune 1000 Cyber Disclosure Report, the second in a series of reports examining U.S. public companies filings in response to U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission guidance asking U.S. listed firms to provide extensive disclosures on their cyber exposures. Willis experts will focus on Directors & Officers Liability associated with cyber risk.

Additional discussion will examine the efforts that the U.S. Government is taking to promote best practices for information security, especially when connected to critical infrastructure. Willis specialists will be joined by cyber security experts and securities law attorneys.

"Willis has been involved in discussions with key government departments on the way standards for cyber protection are being developed. This webinar is for Willis clients who need to understand federal government expectations on cyber risk. We can also offer guidance on integrating the new standards into current risk management programs," said Chris Keegan, E&O and eRisk expert with Willis's FINEX North America team.

"With the SEC's guidance on disclosure for U.S. public companies, the bar has been raised," said Ann Longmore, D&O, EPL and Fiduciary Product Leader for Willis's FINEX North America. "Their stakeholders and trading partners have been awaiting this information – and so has the plaintiffs' bar. The challenge now is to take the next steps to best protect the firm and the firm's executives."
