LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif., Nov. 6, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Infinite Corporation, a global Software and Services Provider, has announced today that it has been awarded a contract to migrate a large insurance application in use by over 700 companies. This contract was awarded after the conclusion of several studies that compared the Infinite I solution against proposals from several global services companies. In the contract, Infinite will migrate an application that includes over 7 million lines of code. The application is written in RPG for the IBM I (AS/400) environment and will be migrated to multiple open platforms that include Linux and AIX and the Oracle database.
Infinite's team has concluded a competition after which they were awarded the contract to migrate an insurance application from AS/400 to multiple open platforms. The client, a major software company specializing in financial services applications, required that its insurance application be migrated to both Linux and AIX operating systems and the Oracle database. The migrated application will be offered in a new version of the software that will be offered as an upgrade to the current version operating only on the AS/400. The new version will be offered for Linux or AIX using the Oracle database to be installed in the client's datacenter or as a Cloud service.
The application was completely migrated as part of the competition and is deployable and available now under Linux/Oracle.
