Palo Alto Networks - The provider of network-security platforms posted earnings per share of 8 cents, excluding items, on revenue of $1.28 million, beating estimates of 7 cents a share on revenue of $1.21 million. Its shares rallied in extended-hours trading.
Nuance Communications - The provider of voice and language technology reported earnings per share of 30 cents, excluding items, on revenue of $4.9 million in non-GAAP revenue, versus estimates of 29 cents a share on revenue of $4.9 million. The company offered first-quarter guidance of 18 cents to 21 cents, excluding items, beneath expectations of 33 cents. Its shares declined in after-hours trading.
J.C. Penney - Shares of the struggling retailer continued to edge higher in after-hours trading after Imperial Capital hiked its ratings on the company's short-term bonds to hold from sell.
