MEDL Mobile Hired by Goodwill to Mobilize ShopGoodwill.com

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Dec. 19, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MEDL Mobile, Inc. (OTCBB:MEDL) – a pioneer in the creation, development, marketing and monetization of mobile apps – announced today that the company has been hired by Goodwill of Orange County to develop a mobile experience for the ShopGoodwill.com site.

Goodwill of Orange County, a social enterprise organization in the business of helping people facing barriers secure jobs, originally launched ShopGoodwill.com in 1999 and will lead development and strategic efforts. However, the application will support nearly 100 local Goodwill agencies around the country - allowing users to bid on high value items which have been donated to various Goodwill locations nationwide.

"It is vital to mission of Goodwill to maximize the value of every donation and this application helps us achieve that goal," said Joe Burke, Goodwill Vice President of Marketing and Community Development. "We turned to MEDL, an expert in the category, to help us develop an application that is truly best in class and integrates our mission into every click, bid and auction item won."

"I'm a long time fan of Goodwill and their mission," said Dave Swartz, MEDL President and CCO. "A significant percentage of the money spent at Goodwill goes towards helping people overcome challenges - and we are excited to create an app that will help drive new revenues to the Goodwill bottom line."

"According to comScore, more than fifty percent of all time spent with online retail is happening on a mobile device," added Ted Francisco, MEDL VP of Strategy. "Now that mobile retail has overtaken desktop, every serious retailer needs to be thinking about their mobile strategy."

"When reviewing our options for mobile, MEDL truly stood among the competition," added Burke. "They impressed us with their knowledge, their creativity, and their ability to work seamlessly alongside our technology team."

Goodwill plans to roll out the ShopGoodwill application for iOS and for Android in 2014.
